Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property is currently vacant and encompasses approximately 10 acres. The property is located at the north end of Butler Street. Surrounding properties consist mostly of wooded, undeveloped property and mixed commercial and residential properties. According to the owners representative, Mr. Andrews, the subject property was occupied by the former Headstart building for the City of Holly Springs. The scale and quality of the earliest aerial (1963) was too poor to determine details and did not show the entire subject property, but in general does appear to be development on the property. Mr. Andrews said that the vacant property formerly occupied by the Headstart Center is approximately 1.5 acres and the wooded portion is approximately 8.5 acres and is owned by the City of Holly Springs. The site had portable buildings for the Headstart program, but buildings had been unoccupied for about 10 years. He didnt know when the city acquired it. He said that it was never industrially used and never had aboveground or underground storage tanks for petroleum products, and there were never any hazardous materials onsite. Its prior use was probably agricultural.
