Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) conducted a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at 121 NW Main Street in Melvern, Kansas. The BTA was conducted for the City of Melvern, who intends to purchase the property and redevelop it as the site of their new City Hall building. The Phase I was necessary to fulfill the due diligence requirements prior to the property transaction and was completed through the KDHE Coalition Assessment Grant-hazardous substance funding. Based on the Phase I report, no Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) were identified in connection with the BTA property, and the property is cleared for redevelopment.

Former Use: The subject site is located in Melvern, Kansas and consists of approximately 0.07 acres in size. Currently, the property is vacant with no current buildings or property improvements. The General topographic gradient of the site slopes to the south and east. The property is currently owned by Darrel Shultze who has owned the property since the mid 1900s. The subject site was developed in the 1920's for commercial use. The building was demolished in early 2016.
