Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) on a property spanning approximately 8 acres with an address of 1013 Highway 69 in Fort Scott, Kansas. The BTA was conducted for the City of Fort Scott, Department of Economic Development, and was completed through the KDHE Coalition Assessment Grant- petroleum substance funding. The City intends to assist the property owner in redeveloping for potential industrial use. Based on the information collected in the Phase I BTA, no "Recognized Environmental Conditions" (RECs) were discovered in connection with the property, and the property is cleared for redevelopment.

Former Use: The site is located in Fort Scott, Bourbon County, Kansas at 1013 Highway 69 and is approximately 8 acres in size. The property is developed with two residential structures and a barn. Historical topographic maps show undeveloped land from approximately 1884-1922. The residential structures were constructed and modified over time, during the years of 1950 and 2016. The owner of the property is currently Lea Emory R. Arnold Trust who obtained the title on April 6, 2010 from Lea Emory R. Arnold.
