Additional Property Attributes

909 Bank Street is currently owned by Photos Enterprises LLC.. The City of Waterbury is looking into the possibility of purchasing this site and creating a park for the Brooklyn Neighborhood. Former Use: The 0.4 acre Site consists of one parcel of land identified by the City of Waterbury tax assessor as 367-18-77. The Site is currently vacant. A restaurant building burned in 2011, and was demolished in 2012 due to the fire damage. A concrete slab and low-lying brick walls occupy the area of the former restaurant building. The remainder of the Site is paved. Prior to construction of the restaurant building, residential dwellings occupied the Site. The 1950-1977 Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps indicate the presence of a gasoline tank onsite.

Upon completion of the assessment activities on site, the City of Waterbury was granted a $220,000 sub-awarded through NVCOG's Revolving Loan Fund for remedial activities throughout the site. Remedial Activities were completed late 2020 with the Connecticut Department of Energy Environmental Protection providing a Voluntary Remediation Verification for the Site. The City of Waterbury has developed the site into a neighborhood "pocket" park.
