Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the above referenced property in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Based on the Phase I report, Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) were identified as potential hazardous substances and/or petroleum products due to the historical use of the property as a commercial printing facility. The Phase I report also revealed evidence of a controlled REC in connection with the use of the adjoining properties. Due to the potential for impacts to soil and/ or groundwater, a Phase II assessment is recommended. A NESHAP Asbestos Survey and Limited Lead-Based Paint assessment was also conducted on the site. Asbestos-containing material (ACM) was identified as 30 square feet (SF) of red floor tile (3% chrysotile), 15 SF of black floor tile (5% chrysotile), 35 SF of beige linoleum (30% chrysotile), 9 x 9 of green floor tile (5% chrysotile), and 9 x 9 of brown floor tile/mastic (3-5% chrysotile). Abatement of these ACMs will likely be required prior to renovation and/or demolition activities.
