Additional Property Attributes

The ICC-Conrail property investigated during the Phase II is approximately 3.5 acres in size and is comprised of one tax parcel: Block 2487, Lot 50 and Block 2495. The subject property is the historical location of the Central Rail Road of New Jerseys Newark and New York branch. At this parcel, rail lines and sidings have been abandoned or removed (some rail remnants remain on-site). Railways formerly traversed the center of the subject property. Rail sidings serviced neighboring historical industrial facilities including a metals recycling/reclamation facility, a brewery, several junkyards and chemical companies, and manufacturing facilities that included iron and steel fabrication, a furnace company, machine shops, and a foundry.

Former Use: Former Conrail rail corridor being considered by ICC for redevelopment into a recreational trail. The subject property was previously occupied by the Central Rail Road of New Jerseys Newark and New York Branch
