The Clinton Avenue property is approximately 0.5 acres in size and is comprised of nine parcels: Block 2671, Lots 1-9. The property is currently vacant with the exception of the remaining structures at 262 and 264 Clinton Avenue. According to Google� Maps, 262 Clinton Avenue is currently being used as the Love Memorial Church. The building at 264 Clinton Avenue shows evidence of fire damage and is vacant. The subject property was developed as residential dwellings prior to 1892. Sometime prior to 1931 the parcel at 258 Clinton Avenue was developed for commercial use, initially as a store and subsequently as a restaurant until 2003. Prior to 1973 the structure at 256 Clinton Avenue was razed, and the parcel was paved for use as a parking lot. The structures at 266, 268, and 270 Clinton Avenue were also removed sometime prior to 1988. After 2003 the buildings at 260, 256, and 254 Clinton Avenue were also demolished.

Former Use: The City of Newark has acquired all but two of the parcels (lots 4 and 5, corresponding to 264 and 262 Clinton Avenue) through tax foreclosures in the 1990s.
