The US EPA tasked Tetra Tech, Inc. to conduct a Phase I and II ESAs of the site under the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) contract EP-S5-13-01, Technical Direction Document (TDD) No. S05-0003-1611-200. The Phase II included soil, groundwater and soil vapor sampling. Soil remediation is required to address source material (total petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations exceeding soil attenuation capacity).

Former Use: According to historical record review, the site has been occupied since at least 1896. The site was initially occupied by a single building, labeled as a store, located on the northwest side of the site. By 1918, the south side of the site is occupied by Tuthill Building Materials and the north side is occupied by Thomas Moulding Brick Co. and a railroad spur enters the site from the southeast corner. By 1950, the south side of the site is occupied by American Flange and Manufacturing Co. and the north side is vacant except for a single building on the northwest side, labeled as warehouse and brick storage.
