Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I environmental assessment report indicated additional investigation was warrant due to a marine machine shop and foundry shop being located close to the subject property to confirm no impact from these offsite properties. Additionally given the age of the structure testing and sampling for asbestos and lead is recommended. Former Use: The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The property was originally used as a pearl button manufacturer at the height of the industry along the river between 1860 and the 1950s. The building was then used as grain storage business until the 1960s at which point it was converted into a laundromat. The building sat empty and was used minimally for storage until 2017. Redevelopment of the property started March 2019. A local developer, Water Street Partners, LP cleaned up the site and renovation was completed in 2021.
