Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I was completed under the Hazardous Grant. However, the Phase I identified a historical junkyard and a historical automotive repair facility on the site. Therefore, the Phase II was completed under the petroleum grant. The Phase II did not identify impacts associated with the historical use of the site.

Former Use: Historically, the site consisted of vacant land with one residential structure from at least 1942 through 1953. By 1964, the residential structure had been demolished. The site remained vacant land until approximately 1984, when a commercial structure was located on the southeast corner of the site and the remaining portion of the site was apparently used as a vehicle junk yard. By 1996, the vehicle junk yard portion of the site was cleared of vehicles and the commercial structure remained. By 2014, the on-site commercial structure was demolished. According to Mr. James Knapp, the former property owner, the site was leased to an auto repair business; however, the length of time was unknown. The historic use of the site as a vehicle junk yard and auto repair constitutes a recognized environmental condition (REC) to the site.
