Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment received a BTA application from the city of Fort Scott for the property located at 119 S. Main. The city is requesting a Phase I BTA to be completed in order for the property to be redeveloped as part of the city's neighborhood revitalization program. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the above referenced property in Fort Scott, Kansas. Based on the Phase I report, no �Recognized Environmental Conditions� (RECs) were identified at the property. No further investigation is needed through the Brownfields Program and the property is cleared for redevelopment. A NESHAP Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint and Mold Survey was also conducted on the site. Asbestos containing materials (ACM) were not identified at the site, however lead based paint (LBP) was identified on interior surfaces of the building. Lead based paint was identified as white plaster on the basement walls (637 mg/kg).
