Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is currently developed with a 106,957 square foot structure that was built in 1966 and used as a high school until 2015. The building contained the following: 29 classrooms, gymnasium with locker rooms, kitchen, administration offices, auditorium, drama room, music room, art room, drafting room, and a vocational wing separated via a corridor from the main building. A cement parking lot is present on the eastern boundary of the site and extends from West 7th Street to the northern property boundary. The parking lot wraps along the north and west side of the on-site building and exits back to West 7th Street. Several cement sidewalks connect West 7th street to southern entrances to the onsite building. The remainder of the site has been landscaped with grass cover and trees. The historical research presented in this assessment has established the use of the Site since 1941. Review of aerial photographs and topographic maps (include additional sources, if necessary) indicated that the site remained undeveloped prior to 1966. According to building department records, The Montezuma-Cortez High School was constructed 1966 with a gymnasium addition constructed in 1979. Based on city directory review for the Site, the site was used as a high school from 1966 to 2015. Surrounding properties have been historically residential.
