Direct contact concerns associated with the presence of contaminated fill will be managed through redevelopment of the Site. Materials will be managed on-site to the extent practicable or taken off-site for appropriate disposal, and engineered barriers (buildings, pavement, clean soil, etc.) and institutional controls will be utilized to address direct contact concerns. Proposed soil management activities and engineered barrier placement and maintenance is outlined and discussed in greater detail in a Materials Management Plan which was prepared and submitted to the WDNR prior to the initiation of redevelopment activities.

Additional Property Attributes

Parcel is adjacent to the old tannery site previously studied under 2014 assessment grant. Both properties are currently being redeveloped in addition to 404 Broadway. The redevelopment project is a $13M effort.

Former Use: Property is a multi-story multi-unit residential structure. Structure sits adjacent to a parcel on which an old tannery once sat until in burned down in 2010. The old tannery parcel was part of the 2014 assessment grant Sheboygan County received. The building will be demolished as part of the larger redevelopment effort.
