Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Prior to the 1946, the site was primarily used for residential purposes. The railroad bordering the west side of the property was constructed between 1904 and 1908. The site was reportedly developed as a feed mill in 1946 and was occupied by R-Way Feed Company in the 1950s, followed by Albers Milling Company until at least 1969. It was subsequently occupied by Redwood Feed and Milling Company. Ownership reportedly changed hands several times between 1979 and 1989, when purchased by Allefax Investments. The date when the site became contaminated is unknown, but impacts associated with the neighboring railroad could date to the early 1900s, and impacts associated with the feedmill could date to the 1940s. The occurrence of petroleum contamination at the property appears to have been first documented during 1998 when two USTs were removed. In 2000, at the time of a previous Phase I ESA, the site was occupied by Acme Towing and Castillo Auto Repair. Current site use are a variety of commercial businesses, including an appliance warehouse and a towing company. There are five buildings on the property, with construction dates ranging from 1946 to the early 1980s.
