Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site was reportedly operated as a concrete ready-mix batch plant since at least 1950 under various ownership. A Sanborn fire insurance map dated 1950 shows a construction materials warehouse as being located near the east end of the parcel, and although not shown, references a concrete block works as being located 41 feet to the south (presumably on this same parcel). City directory records identify the property as Santa Rosa Building Materials Co in 1966, 1973,and 1977. Shamrock Materials, Inc. reportedly acquired the property in 1980 and operated a concrete batch plant until approximately 2011. Environmental concerns include: (1) possible contamination associated with an auto salvage yard directly adjacent to the south edge of the property; (2) potential contamination associated with the rail line that bordered the site from at least 1908 until conversion to a bike trail, (3) potential contamination associated with long term use of the site as a concrete plant, including possible on-site servicing of vehicles, (4) potential residual impacts associated with a 5,000-gal gasoline UST removed in 1986 and with 10,000-gal diesel and 500-gal waste oil AST formerly in use at the site and still present at the time of a Phase I ESA completed in 2015, and 5) asbestos and other hazardous building materials present with structures that remain on the site.
