Additional Property Attributes

The City of Mukilteo has acquired this part of the former tank farm site. The City is planning to redevelop the site as a public park, beach access point, and will include a stream daylighting and wetlands restoration component.

Former Use: The MJG site is one of five lots/tracts recently acquired by the City of Mukilteo (i.e., Lots 1, 2, and 3; and Tracts 3 and 4). The property is located on the shoreline of Possession Sound and is east of a currently operating Washington State Ferry loading dock. The property was a portion of a tank farm site historically used by the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1951 to 1989. Though the tank farm operations have long since ended, features from those operations remain on both the tank farm site as a whole, and within the MJG site. The MJG TBA focuses only on the eastern portion of Tract 4, within and north of the area that included Tank 7. The MJG site is currently owned by the City of Mukilteo, having acquired the site in 2017. Prior owners have included the Port of Everett from 2013 to 2017. The USAF and other military interests owned the property at the time of World War II and likely in 1941, when what became the fuel dock was constructed. Earlier ownership details were not readily available.
