Additional Property Attributes

The Okeene Historic Preservation Group requested that DEQ perform a phase I on the property, but that was changed to a phase II. They would like to utilize the property as a meeting space for class reunions, wedding receptions, and other large community gatherings. Cleanup of asbestos and lead-based paint is needed. PCBs in window caulk were sampled for, but none was found. Our state funded cleanup program was going to clean this site up, but couldn't because they can only help cities. Okeene Historic Preservation Group declined our offer of an RLF subgrant for cleanup.

Former Use: The building was originally built about 1918 and used for the Okeene Motor Company. It changed hands over the years many times. It's last known use was as the Lorenz Feed and Seed.
