Additional Property Attributes

Site assessment completed as part of a redevelopment plan between the City and school district. Redevelopment planning stalled when an agreement for ownership fell through. Site will likely need asbestos inspection completed; however, a lack of current redevelopment plan no longer caused this site to be a priority regarding assessment.

Former Use: The Property is occupied by the vacant Cannon Elementary School building. Cannon Elementary operated as a grade school from 1924 until 2016. The Property is developed with an approximately 17,100 square foot building constructed of brick and masonry with a finished basement level approximately one to two feet below-grade, and a partial, unfinished lower basement level. The exterior grounds of the Property include an area with grass and trees to the northwest of the building; a playground to the southwest; and a paved parking lot to the northeast.
