Additional Property Attributes

Originally the property was utilized as a brewery for roughly 15-20 years. A gasoline engine repair and machinery shop was located on the property circa 1915. The property was partially vacant from 1929-1964 with a portion of the site utilized for residential. From 1977 to 2010 the site was utilized as Tegeler Dairy and for multifamily residential. In 1990 two 1,000 gallon tanks (1 diesel/1 gasoline) were removed from the site and IDNR UST classified the site as "No Further Action" however the tank closure documentation was incomplete therefore the Phase I identified the historic operation of USTs at the Property as a REC. Since 2014 the site has been vacant. Based on the Phase I investigation prepared in 2019 additional soil and groundwater sampling was recommended prior to redevelopment of the site. Property owner sold site privately. Redevelopment of main first floor of the buildings was completed 2022. Property owner is utilizing upstairs space as storage but plans to convert to apartments in future. Renovation of upper level has not been completed as of Jan 2023.
