Additional Property Attributes

Historic documents indicate the Site was used as a laundry/linen service from 1948 to 1979. The City of Fort Wayne acquired the Site in 1979 and since that time has been using the Site as a parking lot for Lawton Park, located to the north of the Site, and for a skateboard park, located to the west of the Site. In August 2020, the City of Fort Wayne was conducting grading activities at the Site to lower its elevation for flood mitigation purposes and discovered an abandoned 8,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) beneath the east end of the Site. There are no historical documents or records regarding the UST.
