Additional Property Attributes

Standard and other historical sources were able to document that the first developed use of the subject property occurred in 1908 with the construction of the western commercial building (301 Wood Avenue East). The northern portion of the western building was historically utilized for printing operations from at least 1913 until between 1923 and 1929. Typically, printing operations involve the usage of general hazardous substances and/or petroleum products. However, based on the limited operations performed, the brief period of operations, and the length of time since operations (91 years), it is likely that any contamination from these historical operations would have degraded and would no longer remain onsite. Therefore, PM has not identified the former printing operations as a recognized environmental condition (REC).

The remaining portion of the building (301) as well as 309 and 311 was then utilized as office space for the Westmoreland Coal Company from 1908, 1970, and 1980, respectively. The buildings have been mostly vacant of operations since Westmoreland Coal Company vacated between 1995 and 2000, however, some chemicals and laboratory testing materials from Westmoreland Coal Company remain onsite in the upper level of the building. The first floors of the buildings have been occupied by an antique store since at least 2014 (309) and various retail, professional offices, and restaurants since 2005 (311).
