Additional Property Attributes

The subject property served as a warehouse, a dry goods store, and shortly as a fraternal hall for Civil War veterans in 1912. The current property building was constructed sometime between 1910 and 1923. It has served as a garage building with 100-car capacity, a roller skating rink, a bowling alley, and most recently as a Kid's Community Center.

Asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), and mold were identified within the property building. All ACM was removed and properly disposed of, and the building received clearance for demolition on 7/22/2024. The building demolition was complete on 11/21/2024, which also eliminated the LBP and mold from the site.

Historical Sanborn fire insurance maps reviewed as part of the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) identified a gas tank depicted on the west side of the subject property building from at least as early as 1923 to 1932. A Phase II ESA is recommended to determine if there has been a release to the environment due to the historical gas tank.
