Additional Property Attributes

According to a Phase I ESA Report prepared in January 2020 by Asbestos & Environmental Consulting Corporation (AECC), the Site has a history of use as a residential dwelling beginning in the late 19th century. The Site became mixed residential and commercial in the mid-20th century. The City of Syracuse acquired the Site in 2003 and demolished the remaining two-story building structure that formerly occupied the Site. Since that time, the Site has remained a vacant lot. The Phase I ESA Report prepared in 2020 identifies the following Recognized Environmental Condition (REC):AECC has identified seven off-Site properties that, when considered together and in relation to the Site, represent enough concern to be considered a REC to the subject Site of this Assessment. Such properties include former and current automotive repair / service stations, former and current gasoline stations, former industrial properties, and former drycleaning facilities. There is documented historical contamination related to some of these properties, while others have no identified history of investigation having occurred that might be able to rule out potential contamination. There appears to have been no known previous site investigation performed on the Site but contamination from past operations on adjacent properties are suspected to have impacted the Site. A Phase II ESA is needed to confirm if contamination is present.
