Additional Property Attributes

The Property is located on the grounds of the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility, just outside the eastern wall of the facility at the northwest corner of North 1st Street and Main Street. The Property contains a vacant multi-story former residence. According to Colorado Preservation, Inc. (CPI) the onsite structure was constructed in 1901 as the residence of the Colorado Territorial Correctional Facility deputy warden (CPI 2020). The structure was used as a private residence until circa 1970, and served as a juvenile delinquent foster home from some time in 1970 to 2007 (CPI 2020). The onsite structure has been vacant since. The structure is part of the National Register of Historic Places (CPI 2020).
