Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Most likely residential. This property is located in Allendale near the western edge of Ledbetter Heights. Only a few houses and businesses remain in this area, which was once a multi-ethnic, multi-class neighborhood for most of its history. Most of the structures that once housed families and businesses have been removed due to property standards. The empty lots have become homes to oaks and mulberry trees and field grasses.
Proposed Reuse: It is currently owned by Shreveport Landmark, a now dissolved nonprofit, which is donating the sites to Shreveport Common, a nonprofit arts- and community-based redevelopment authority, to facilitate redevelopment as affordable housing.
