Additional Property Attributes

The site is an approximately 0.93-acre tract of land occupied by the Freedom Center and a barber shop. The Site is an important landmark, historically significant due to its use during
the civil rights movement as the headquarters of the NAACP Youth Council. The Site historically operated as a filling station. Review of files available from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) Petroleum Storage Tank Division (PTSD) public access database records indicated facility inspections dating back to 1952 with station closure in July 1963, however no record of tank removal was available. OES subcontracted GPRS, Inc. (GPRS) to conduct a scan for remaining USTs, using Ground Penetrating Radar. GPRS mobilized to the Site on October 19, 2020. A scan of the area outlined in red, on page 3 of the GPRS report, did not identify anomalies consistent with USTs.
