Additional Property Attributes

LRA aquired this site by tax suit on May 4, 1999. It is zoned C - Multiple Family Residential. The site lies in the 4th Ward. A hay and feed store was present on the site in 1909, and a filling station/auto repair shop from approximately 1930 to 1998. The buildings at the site were demolished in 2002. The site had one 1,000-gallon gasoline tank and one 1,000-gallon diesel fuel tank, both of which were removed in 2002. The site was issued a "No Further Action" letter by the Department's Underground Storage Tanks Section in 2003.

Two soil borings advanced at the site revealed lead and arsenic in both the surficial and subsurface soils in excess of the Department's default target levels. One of the surficial soil samples exhibited a concentration of lead of 40,000 parts per million, far in excess of both the Department's residential and non-residential Risk-Based Target Levels. Due to the high lead concentration found in the surficial soil sample, further investigation into the extent of the lead contamination is recommended.
