This is Tanks site ST0009576. It was acquired by LRA through tax suit #156 on Oct. 20, 2011. It is zoned F - Neighborhood Commercial. It is in the 1st Ward. The site was a filling station from approximately 1931 through 1960; an auto repair business operated at the site from at least 1965 to 1980. Records indicate that two tanks were closed in-place in June 1995. The onsite building was demolished in 2007.

A gas station occupied the property from at least 1931 through 1960. Department records show two underground storage tanks were closed in-place in June 1995, although a "No Further Action" letter has not been issued to the site for these tanks. There is no indication that samples have been collected and analyzed.
An auto repair business was located on the property from at least 1965 through 1980.
An "automobile house", with two 100-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks, was located on a property adjacent, and to the east, of the site.

Arsenic and lead were discovered above the Department's default target levels (DTLs) in both the surficial and subsurface soil, but the concentrations are below normal background levels for the St. Louis area. Naphthalene and lead were discovered in the groundwater at the site above the DTLs, but below the Tier I Risk-Based Target Levels for residential land use. No further investigation at the site is necessary.
