Additional Property Attributes

This site was acquired by LRA via Tax Suit #150 on August 19, 2010. The building on it was demolished in 2007. It is zoned F - Neighborhood Commercial and is located in the 4th Ward. The site was a filling station from at least 1930 through 1975, though the exact time is uncertain. It has been vacant since at least 2007.

The site was occupied by a gas station, with three underground storage tanks, from at least the 1930s through 1975. There are no records that the tanks have ever been removed.

Concentrations of lead and naphthalene in subsurface soils exceed the Department's default target levels, though not the residential risk-based target levels. The maximum concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbons - gasoline range organics (TPH-GRO) exceeds the residential risk-based target level for the indoor air inhalation pathway. The concentrations of naphthalene, arsenic and lead in the groundwater exceed the default target levels, but a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of St. Louis and the Department prohibits the domestic use of groundwater at the site. Because of the maximum concentration TPH-GRO in the soil, further investigation is warranted.
