Additional Property Attributes

The property served as a church from its frame construction in 1902 through its exterior upgrade in 1928. It was sold by the original congregation in 1988 to another church congregation, which used it for a church for a while, but in the past couple of decades, leased the building to others, including a day care operator. In August 2022, the current owner gifted the property back to the original Mt. Zion Baptist Church, who took possession of this unexpected restoration project in September 2022.

An asbestos and lead based paint inspection were performed on the property, which certain building materials as containing asbestos and certain surfaces as containing lead based paint.
