Additional Property Attributes

The Heart of America Medical Center (HAMC) is an active regional hospital that includes an acute hospital care wing, wellness clinics, hospital laboratory and radiology departments, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation, wellness center, ambulance and emergency medical services, specialties (such as mental health, audiology, and podiatry), and
long-term nursing care. The current hospital layout includes up to four floor levels constructed predominantly during in the 1930s, 1949, 1964, 1971, approximately 1980, and 1990. Five buildings built at various times were combined into one building complex. The approximately 165,000-square-foot building complex was remodeled in 1991. HAMC began operations in 1905 and are on-going. A new hospital facility was constructed in 2023/24 and hospital operations are expected to move to the new facility in October 2024. Future uses of the original facility are currently undetermined.
