Additional Property Attributes

The RY Timber property was formerly owned by Townsend Timber Inc. and RY Timber. The property was formerly operated as a sawmill, wood treatment, and lumber processing facility. The former sawmill is abandoned and fires have destroyed the former sawmill plant and warehouse. A machine shop, two offices, scale house, warehouse, pole barn, woodchip hopper, pump house, shop building, and parts building remain on the property. START completed a Phase I ESA to facilitate redevelopment of the subject property into manufacturing, residential, and recreational uses. The Phase I identified multiple RECs commonly associated with lumber production facilities. Asbestos and lead-based paint were identified in building materials. A Phase II ESA is recommended to further investigate the extent and magnitude of contamination.
