Additional Property Attributes

This property is being assessed for the City of Dallas Trinity River Corridor Office. Then City of Dallas will purchase the property as part of the Calatrava Bridge construction. The property will be included in the approach for the bridge which will connect West Dallas and the Central Business District. (PPF-5/4/07)

Former Use: From at least 1922 to 1957, Dallas Power and Light operated an oil pump house and the subject property. The oil pump house dispensed fuel oil associated with one to three 55,000-gallon aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) located west of the subject property. In 1957, Dallas Power and Light sole the subject property to H and H Petroleum. In 1961, H and H Petroleum developed the subject property as a gasoline service station and office warehouse. The gasoline service station maintained between three and eight fuel related underground storage tanks (USTs) between 1962 and 1990 and one waste oil UST between 1979 and 1990. The gasoline service station provided automobile services including oil changes, state inspections and tire replacement/repair. Three inactive fuel USTS, two septic tanks and one hydraulic lift remain in the ground at the present time. On June 16, 2005, a City of Dallas incident report indicated that a 55-gallon drum of waste oil located in the service bay of the former gasoline station leaked onto the floor and flowed out, underneath the bay door. The City of Dallas cleaned up the spill and presently has filed a claim against the current property owners, Ben Holdridge and Marilyn Forney, in Municipal Court with the court date scheduled for December 7, 2005.
