Additional Property Attributes

This large project will redevelop a vacant, 400,000 sq. ft. former manufacturing facility in Alma for the new owner, Merrill Fabricators to expand their Saginaw and Merrill, Michigan operations. The company is experiencing significant growth, and expects to employ approximately 300 at this new Alma location. The redevelopment of this landmark building will be the cornerstone of the revitalization of Alma's major industrial area. A multi-billion dollar energy research park is planned for much of the neighboring property, which was once the location of the Total Refinery. (Refinery was closed and demolished in between 2000-2002.) Merrill Fabricators specializes in heavy duty welded products, and coincidentally manufacturers many of the components that may be necessary for the neighboring proposed energy research park, such as high pressure gas valves. Merrill Fabricators also is heavily involved in the alternative energy industry, manufacturing components and equipment for both wind and solar applications. They are also a large Defense Industry supplier.

Former Use: Residential, Michigan State Highway Department Garage, and possible agriculture (row crops), industrial/manufacturing, unoccupied.
