Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I ESA was performed which identified historical records from previous sampling conducted on the property, however, additional RECs identified other areas that could yield additional contaminants of concern.

Former Use: The property is approximately 1 acre in size. An approximately 8,000 square foot building is located on the eastern region of the property. The building has a concrete slab on grade foundation. Exterior walls consist of concrete blocks that are brick-faced in some areas. The structures are steel and wood framed. Older portions of the building were wood framed with the newer additions being steel. Several additions and improvements have been made to the structure since its construction in the 1930s. Storage areas are located to the east and west of the of the building and are roofed and open sided. Public water service is supplied by the City of Rockford. Sanitary Sewer utilities are provided by the Rock River Water Reclamation District. Natural gas meters are located on the east side of the building and overhead electrical utilities enter from overhead utility poles located on the south side of the property. The property is currently used as an active machine shop.
