Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Based on information obtained during the Phase I ESA, the use of the subject property prior to 1938 could not be determined. However, from at least 1938 through the late 1950s/early 1960s the subject property consisted of cleared land which appeared to be used for agricultural row crop production. Following the use of the subject property for agricultural purposes, the property was operated as a scrap yard where scrap metal items (vehicle, parts, dumpsters, tanks, drums, etc.) were stored, cut to size, and transferred offsite for reprocessing/reuse. Sometime between the late 1950s and early 1960s, the barn located on the western portion of the property was demolished and the building that currently exists on the eastern portion of the property was constructed. The subject property has operated as a metal scrap yard since the late 1950s/early 1960s, and such operations included some vehicle maintenance activities. At the time the site reconnaissance activities were completed on May 27, 2008, the subject property was operating as a scrap metal yard known as Hollopeter and Sons.
