Former Use: Based on information obtained during the Phase I ESA, the use of the subject property prior to the late 1800s could not be determined. However, from sometime in the late 1800s until approximately 1961 the subject property was developed with an uninsulated, wood stove heated residence, a barn, livestock pasture and wheat or oat fields. Beginning in approximately 1961 through 1980 the subject property was also utilized as an automobile scrap yard where items vehicles, mainly were stored and transferred offsite for reprocessing/reuse. In 1980 operation of the scrap yard ceased and was dismantled by 1998. Between 1998 and 2003 the subject property remained vacant. In 2003 the residential structure located on the subject property was destroyed by a controlled burn by the local fire department followed by which the remnants of the structure and the dilapidated barn were removed from the property and disposed of.
