Additional Property Attributes

The Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) assessed the out-of-use former recreation center for hazardous building materials. Asbestos was identified in flooring, wall systems, and adhesives for features on the roof. Report was produced with abatement cost estimates for demolition and renovation options. CSKT is considering which option to pursue.

Former Use: Former KooStahTah Hall was a well-used Tribal recreation and fitness center in Elmo, Montana until approximately 2005, when it became vacant due to construction of larger recreation and fitness center on the same property. Former Hall is now becoming dilapidated, and is used by trespassers for illicit activity and unsanctioned parties. CSKT wishes to demolish the building to remove blight and increase safety and use of the new recreation center.
