Additional Property Attributes

For this assessment, eight 8 soil boring were installed on the property and converted to temporary groundwater monitoring wells. Soil samples and groundwater samples were collected from each boring location for laboratory analysis. The groundwater sampling results indicated concentrations of petroleum related contaminants in excess of the TRG were present of the east side and southeast corner of the former bus stop building in temporary monitoring well locations TMW-4 & 7. The contaminants included both gasoline and diesel related compounds. Based on the information obtained in the Phase II ESA report, the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum related contamination has not been defined, and appears to be increasing in concentration in the downgradient direction of the subject property.

Former Use: The property was purchased by the Lowndes County in 1932. It was utilized as a county farm to grow vegetables for county prisoners between 1932 and 1950.
