Property Highlights

Former Use: The 2.38 acre parcel was used as a City of Cranston Police Station from 1966-2006. One 18,920 sq. ft building and a 1248 sq. ft. boiler house are on the property. Prior to the City purchasing the property in 1933, the site was owned by DMC Realty and was wetland. During construction of the police station in 1963, borings advanced on the property indicated fill material in the form of ash, bricks, glass and asphalt. The nature and extent of the fill material is unknown. The city used the fill for raising the grade of the site for construction. It is also believed that the area was used as an undocumented solid waste disposal area from 1930s-1960s.
