Additional Property Attributes

The site consists of three parcels. All three have been used for industrial purposes for more than 100 years. The sites are adjacent to the shoreline, and fill materials of unknown origin may have been placed. One parcel was used for warehousing and is intended to be redeveloped for residential and commercial use. The second parcel has been used by a concrete company and is planned to be redeveloped as a commercial property. The third parcel is used for boat storage and is planned to be redeveloped as a marina with parking and commercial use. Under Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) Contract No. 68-HE-0519-D0005, Task Order-Task Order Line Item No. (TOLIN) F0107-0001BJ110. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tasked Tetra Tech, Inc. (Tetra Tech) to conduct a Phase I and a Phase II environmental site assessment (ESA) and hazardous building materials survey at the Superior Warehouse and Marina Properties site (the site) under the Targeted Brownfields Assessment (TBA) program. Soil samples were collected from soil borings and excavated test pits. Groundwater samples were collected from temporary wells installed in the soil borings. A hazardous building materials survey was completed.
