Additional Property Attributes

Property is former industrial along the Rock River. Planned land use is to redevelop as a park area and assist in flood control of river as part of Rock River Parkway Master Plan. Phase II activities include: QAPP, enrollment into Site Remediation Program, Sampling and Analysis Plan, initial site investigation, and Comprehensive Site Investigation Report. Supplemental Activities include: a supplemental site investigation, Remediation Ob-jectives Report, tier 2 soil and groundwater modeling with surface water receptor evaluation. Cleanup Planning includes: Remedial Action Plan and discussions with City and IEPA. The CSIR, ROR and RAP were approved by Illinois EPA on April 3, 2012. Site sat idle between 2012 and 2021. New Beloit minor league baseball stadium constructed to the north of the property in 2021. The baseball stadium has requested the use of the property for stadium parking. Supplemental site investigation was completed to update and re-enroll in the SRP. Engineered barriers will be in the form of paved parking lots and alternative greenspace barriers partially extended across the site. ISCO soil mixing remediation will be necessary prior to redevelopment.
