Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Historical operations at the Property could not be clearly assessed as part of the Phase I ESA Symbiont, 2009 due, in part, to the fact that the property has been rented for much of its developed history. The facility was constructed in 1972 by Richard and Helen Mathette. Its use at that time was defined by Elkhart County records as a warehouse. The property was purchased by Group Four in 1982. It appears that the Bru-Bec-Sto rented the facility from Group Four during the mid 1980s. Bru-Bec-Sto operations appear to have included power coating and painting of small parts, utilization of polyester coatings and iron phosphate, and TCE vapor degreasing. The facility has most recently been utilized as a warehouse for recreational vehicle RV parts. Although the exact year commercial/industrial activities began at the Site is unknown, it is likely the Site has been used for commercial and/or industrial purposes since 1972.
