Additional Property Attributes

This site has been used for mixing nutritional additives for animal feed since 1960. Site access was not granted to a site walk thru and owner/operator interviews were not completed. Soil discoloration from the additives is apparent from off-site and aerial photographs. Under the Marion Central Corridor Master Plan, the site will become part of the new "Marion Avenue" and serve as a gateway into the corridor from the east. The roadway will facilitate vehicular traffic movement between the community and downtown Marion. Remaining portions of the site will be commercial development

Former Use: Research of historical documents indicates the property contained a lumber shed and conveyor pit in the southwest corner of the site and a warehouse and elevator in the south portion of the site in 1918. The property appeared to be part of railroad right-of-way and did not contain any structures in 1940. The property contained a large industrial or commercial structure on the west end of the site and two smaller structures on the central portion of the site in 1957. Further the east end of the site is developed with one to two smaller structures and a potential residence in the northeast corner of the site in the referenced year. The property contained industrial development and was identified as a feed operation under different names from 1960 to the present.
