Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The nine-parcel, 54.13-acre site consists of nine of the original buildings including three textile mills, a finishing plant, fabrication warehouse and distribution warehouse. The site was an integrated textile facility which produced both finished (dyed) and greige goods (unfinished) from cotton and polyester raw materials. WestPoint Stevens purchased the site from the Bibb Company in 1996. Manufacturing operations included yarn making, weaving, bleaching, dyeing, and sewing until operations ceased in 2003. The site has undergone some demolition by the current owner, Sonrise Reclamation, LLC. The site was put under a NCDEQ Brownfields Agreement on 11/29/23 and purchased by a new owner on 12/19/23 for redevelopment with a new commercial/distribution business.
