Additional Property Attributes

Building 233 and 234 is a duplex single story home on the Fort Lyon Campus. Bent County would like to conduct renovation or demolition activities (pending finial historic facility plans) on Building 233/234 at the Ft. Lyon Facility. Based on previous investigations, asbestos-containing material (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP) had previously been identified in the building. This TBA included an ACM survey to determine and/or refine the locations and extents of ACM at the building and visual inspections for PCBs, mercury, and mold. For this TBA project, all paint inside the building was considered LBP. Contaminants identified in the building were ACM and included floor tile, linoleum, and pipe insulation.

Former Use: Building 233 and 234 is a single story duplex on NE Street on the northeast end of the Fort Lyon Campus. The Fort Lyon Facility property consists of 512 acres with approx. 55 residential buildings and a large community building. Fort Lyon dates back to 1868 when it was used as a U.S. Army Fort. The Fort Lyon Facility property has also been used as a TB sanatorium, VA Hospital, and correctional facility. The campus is owned by Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration and Bent County manages the property.
