Additional Property Attributes

This property is located approximately five miles south of Inchelium, WA to the east of Silver Creek Road on the west slope of Rattlesnake Mountain. The Property has been used since at least the early 1980's as an open pit aggregate mine that provides base and fill material for construction and fill projects near Inchelium, WA. Prior to its use as an aggregate mine, the Property was undeveloped forestland. A Phase 1 ESA was conducted for the purpose of due diligence associated with determining the appropriateness for continued operation of the Ice Mine Quarry as an unregulated open pit aggregate mine. Currently, an area of the property is being used for illegal refuse dumping. In recent assessments, elevated concentrations of lead and arsenic above human health risk are present in near surface rock detritus and aggregate at exposed band and slope faces within the open pit quarry mine. Currently, no REC's were identified at the property.

Former Use: The property is an open pit aggregate mine that provides base and fill material for construction and fill projects near Inchelium, WA. A portion of the property is owned by Boston Timber Opportunities, LLC and an unnumbered parcel adjacent and to the north identified as Indian Allotment Trust Lands as noted by the Ferry County Assessor. The property is unoccupied. In 1952, the property is undeveloped forestland. In 1983, the trees have been cleared from the property and portions of the surrounding area with active mining possibly occurring with in the area of the quarry. In 1992, the property has been cleared of vegetation and appears to be in use as an open pit mine. In 2005, the property remains largely unchanged, however a triangular-shaped property immediately of the quarry appears to have been logged.
