Additional Property Attributes

This property is a prime opportunity for a collaborative public and private sector redevelopment effort. The property is located in the heart of Weirton's central business district and enjoys a high degree of visibility from the surrounding commercial areas. Although the property is zoned for educational use, the City of Weirton is willing to rezone it to facilitate redevelopment. The property's readiness for redevelopment makes it one of the Brooke-Hancock region's most desirable properties. In addition to its prime location and infrastructure, the property presents few of the redevelopment obstacles normally associated with an urban infill property. (PPF - Cove School Property, 5/9/06)

Former Use: A former school facility (3-story, 33,000 square foot building) is located on the property. Built in the late 1920s, it operated as a school until the mid-1990s.
