Additional Property Attributes

The property was formerly in use as a manufacturing facility for brake shoes and drums. In 1980, the property was identified as having hazardous waste activity. The property was entered into the RCRA program (Permit Name: Abex, Number: VAD 003070976) for releases of metals and organic contaminants to the soil. The property included four impoundments, an unlined landfill, and a drum storage area. A RCRA permit was issued in 1995 which included a 10-year monitoring period and a 30-year post-closure period. The current Post-Closure Permit is associated with 9.1 acres of the property, and includes groundwater compliance monitoring. The facility does not currently dispose of hazardous waste onsite. Redevelopment of the property may require further remediation to some or all of the RCRA permitted areas as well as non-RCRA related potential areas of concern. As of November 2007, two additional areas of concern were identified and were being addressed by the current property owner.

Former Use: The parcel was formerly a brake manufacturing facility. The facility underwent a RCRA RA at portions of the property in the mid-1990s.
